It seems that we will see a very strong competition during next June of the current year 2024 between Huawei, Honor, Vivo, and Oppo, specifically in the mid-range phone category.
The four-way competition will include the Huawei Nova 13 series, the Honor 200 series, the Vivo S19 series, and the Oppo Reno 12 series.
In February, leaks revealed the main specifications of the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro. However, the names of the chipsets powering these smartphones have not been explicitly mentioned.
A new leak appeared today on Weibo revealing the chipsets for both phones, in addition to some other specifications.
Key specifications of the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro phones have leaked
According to the leaks, the Reno 12 series will be based on the Dimensity 8300 and Dimensity 9200 Plus chipsets.
The Chinese models of the Reno 11 and Reno 11 Pro phones were based on the Dimensity 8200 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipsets.
So, it looks like the company may rely on the Dimensity 8300 in the Reno 12, while the Reno 12 Pro may come with the Dimensity 9200 Plus.
The leak indicates that the Reno 12 screen will support 1080p resolution, while the Pro model may offer a 1.5K screen. It is said that the screens of the two phones will be curved on both sides.
The new leak also says that the Reno 12 series will have a plastic middle frame and a glass back. The back of both phones will feature a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom for portraits. It is also said that both phones will support 80W fast charging.
Recent reports showed that Oppo is also working on an Oppo Pad 3 that is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
Additionally, it is claimed in a new leak that the brand is also planning to launch a new pair of headphones. These devices are scheduled to be launched on the same schedule as the Reno 12. So, it seems that the brand may launch other devices alongside the Reno 12 series in June in China.
